Christmas Tree Festival 2019

Crib Service 2019

On Saturday 7th December the holders for the candles are being erected in the church starting at 9.30am. Helpers are wanted for this and any person that is able to assist would be most welcome especially if they come armed with screw drivers. Hopefully we will be finished before 11.30am.
There is a possibility that mince pies and coffee will be provided!!  Allen Lucas (01825723403)

Christmas tree festival

Opens:  Friday 13th December 10am and runs through until Sunday 15th December 4pm.

The Church doors will open at 10.00am on Friday 13th December to welcome you to walk around and enjoy the festive atmosphere and beautifully adorned trees that will be on display. There will also be space for you to sit and relax – and decide which trees you think are worthy of a place in the top three best dressed trees award for 2019. In addition to enjoying the trees there will be musical entertainment accompanied by the offer of some Mulled Wine and Mince Pies on Friday and Saturday afternoon – and a lunchtime treat on Sunday too.

And if that isn’t enough – this year there is a festive market on Saturday 14th from 11am – 3pm in the Barn Centre, where you will be able to buy some lovely produce and perhaps a last minute Christmas present or two from the various stalls that will be offering a range of gifts. You will be able to treat yourself to a late breakfast, or an early lunch whilst you wander around looking at perfumes and gifts, chocolate and cheese, cakes and sweets and various other treats.

It promises to be fantastic and we really hope you come along at some point during the weekend to enjoy the trees, the entertainment, the shopping and the ambience – and help us to raise some money for St Mary’s Newick and St Peter & St James Hospice.

Last but by no means least – there is still time to display a tree so please email Jenny (
and Sara ( and we will be in touch with you.

Thank you for all you do
